2008 was a long but successful year and i thought to myself this morning i should lay down this years objectives in writing. I’m not one for getting bogged down in seasonal traditions but i do live my life by objectives so i felt creating this list made sense. Last year i aimed to move homes, change jobs , establish some new sites and learn PPC. I managed to achieve all these and this is what i have planned for 2009.

1. 1. Finally Clear The Dreaded Overdraft
   I am happily saving away these days for a big trip i have planned however i have been selectively ignoring my overdraft. I have a feeling the bank will come knocking for it at some point so i aim to pay the pile of cash i owe back. Always fun i feel.
2. 2. Make It To Pubcon 2009 & America
   My original plan was to take a trip to America in March of this year however due to budget constraints i decided to delay the trip. This got me thinking about what i could do with the extra cash i would save by the time i was ready to go on the trip. I thought i may as well go on a longer trip and since i would be in America i should try and go to one of the big SEO conferences. Pubcon is probably the biggest in the industry and i could hardly turn down the chance to go to Vegas again. What’s more is i will be able to gamble this time round. This may just cause me to fail resolution number one though.
3. 3. Launch A New E-Commerce Store
   In 2008 a friend and i setup Candles To You which is an online store that sells candles. This has proved to be pretty successful so far and it is something that i have enjoyed working on. We have therefore decided to setup another store but this time we will be selling something other than candles. The details are still being ironed out on this one but i will keep you guys updated.
4. 4. Push This Blog A Lot More
   I had originally planned to push this blog in early September however i ran short on time so have turned my focus to promoting it in the early months of 2009. If you guys have any thoughts or ideas then please do let me know.
5. 5. Drink Less
   Pretty much self explanatory. Since moving to Manchester i have been exploring the bars a lot more and trying out new drinks. I think this year i will drink less and work more. Whether it will turn out that way i don’t know.
6. 6. Improve Overall SEO Results
   I always strive to improve and learn more so this year i will hopefully be attending more events and networkings with all you lovely people. I think i will also concentrate harder on one particular area. I am quite keen to look at copy writing in more detail.
7. 7. Take AdExcellence Exam
   This is not particularly an important one however it is another thing for the CV and a way to improve my PPC knowledge. There are also a couple of free vouchers for the Microsoft Advertising system which i can use on the candles site.

So there you have it. 2009 set in stone for Mark Mayne. I do have some other aims but they are not suitable for here but if i can achieve these little gems i would be more than happy.
